The Foster City Fire Department, located between City Hall and the Police Department, boasts an able-bodied team of 21 professional firefighters, nine fire captains, three battalion chiefs and the fire chief. Among the firefighters and fire captains, 12 are also paramedics. The department also has two sworn fire prevention personnel, the fire marshall and assistant fire marshall.
