Humane Society Seeks Help in Caring for Abandoned Baby Birds
Several orientation classes available -- next one today at 3 p.m.
The is looking for volunteers to help care for a number of orphaned baby birds delivered to its Wildlife Rescue Center by good Samaritans.
The PHS takes in more than 4,000 injured, sick or orphaned wild animals every year, and each spring the center looks for volunteers to help care for the influx of baby birds brought in by residents who find them lost or abandoned.
In a unique opportunity to work directly with wildlife, volunteers will learn to handle and feed the baby birds with the goal of eventually releasing them back into the wild.

Potential volunteers are asked to apply online by clicking here and registering for one of 10 baby bird orientation classes.
The next orientation is being held today at 3 p.m. at the PHS/SPCA, located at 12 Airport Blvd. in San Mateo.
