What Olympics Event Are You Most Looking Forward To?

Swimming, gymnastics, beach volleyball and cycling often have prime time slots on TV, but what sport or event is one you never miss?

Did you know there are 36 different sports in which athletes compete in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London?

And that track and field events are actually in a sports category called "Athletics?"

My favorites are women's gymnastics and swimming, but I also have a soft spot for badminton.

The biggest events for each of these sports? DVR set!

But what is your must-see event or sport over the next three weeks?

Is it the Men's 200M Individual Medley in swimming, Women's Doubles in Tennis? Or is it every men and women's gymastics event?

Can't remember all the categories? Here is the condensed version:

Archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, volleyball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, diving, equestrian, fencing, football, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, modem pentathlon, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, trampoline, triathlon, water polo, weightlifting and wrestling.

Men's gymnastics, the Russian men's team in particular, are incredible to watch. Also the track & field events are great, both men's and women's. I don't care for the idea of team sports in the Olympics. They promote the idea of country vs. country and that's not what the Olympics is supposed to be about. The Olympics is supposed to provide a stage for the world's greatest athletes to compete, mano a mano, regardless of country. Country vs country is cold war residue.

swimming, seeing local athletes. Having competed in the minor sport of swimming thru. college, I like to support all the minor sports. What I don't like seeing is Mens basketball. they make a huge money and get huge attention, we don't need to see them at the one time all the other athletes get a chance to show what they can do. And it is just men, not women. Till professional sports are truly equal, the olympics are a chance to see women's basketball.

Gymnastics, Diving and Swimming are definite favorites, but I always find myself getting sucked into the competition of sports that I don't normally watch. I watched the second half of a handball game on Saturday. What I am enjoying this Olympiad is that NBC has set up their Live Extra Coverage. And of course there's an app for that :) It pretty much allows you to watch any event you want live while it's happening. Lots of events are also available for replay, so if you can't get yourself up at 3am, you can watch later.

Women's handball is, hands down, the best I've see so far. Did you see those mid-air shots? Men's diving was incredible as well.
