Serra High Athletes Sign With Universities

Three Serra High seniors Wednesday signed with universities to continue their athletic careers.

Three Serra High School seniors signed with universities at a special ceremony for the athletes on Wednesday.

Colin Theroux, who will play baseball at the University of Nevada; Antonio Freschet, who will play baseball at Northwestern University; and Tim Glauinger, who will join the wrestling team at Lehigh University, received support from friends, family members and school officials at Wednesday's ceremony.

The students' coaches, Craig Gianinno and Ricardo Garcia, spoke at the event, as well as Serra Principal Dr. Barry Thornton, who emphasized Serra's signature statement, "Once a Padre, always a Padre."

Serra is no stranger to professional athletes. New England Patriot Tom Brady graduated from Serra High School in 1995.
