Ever Been Behind the Scenes at Candlestick?

The second oldest stadium in the National Football League is now open for tours.

Football fans can now take a guided tour of San Francisco's historic Candlestick Park stadium this fall.

The hour-long tour will include a behind-the-scenes look at team locker rooms, the view from the luxury suites and a run on the field, according to the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.

Candlestick Park, built in 1960 as a baseball stadium for the San Francisco Giants, has a capacity of 70,000 and is the second oldest stadium in the National Football League, officials said.

It also has other claims to fame, such as being the site of the famed Beatles' last concert before the band broke up back in the '60s.

Tours will be available Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.,  and on Saturdays at 11 a.m. To book a tour, call (415) 819-6498 or e-mail Amanda Tugwell at Amanda.tugwell@sfgov.org.
