Every Step Counts 1 Mile Walk/ 5K Run

Lace up your shoes for the 2011 Every Step Counts 1 Mile Walk/5K Run on April 30th, in support of enhancing the independence, self sufficiency and quality of life of individuals with developmental disabilities who might otherwise be alienated from mainstream of society.  This year's race is officially sanctioned by the USA Track & Field.

Location and Check-in:

Check-in, day-of registration, begins at 7:30am at the San Leandro Marina Park picnic tables near the walking path. The address of the San Leandro Marina is: 13800 Monarch Bay Dr., San Leandro CA 94577 (across from Monarch Bay Golf Course).

Directions and Parking:

From I-880, exit at Marina Blvd. EST and veer right on the on ramp towards the bay. Go one mile on Marina Blvd. As you enter the San Leandro Marina the road curves to the left and the name of the road changes to Neptune. Continue through the stop sign until you see signs for Stepping Stones.

Free and ample parking will be available at the Marina. Street parking is permitted. Please don't park at the Monarch Bay Golf Course.

Description:

The course is a scenic run along the Bay. It is also a flat, fast, out and back course. The 1 mile and 5K both include portions of the San Francisco Bay Trail.

Entry fee includes a t-shirt, prize drawings, goodie bag and refreshments.

Each individual who raises $500 or more will receive a prize from Stepping Stones. Participants will be entered into a drawing once they register and will have the chance to win some exciting prizes!

Medals will also be awarded to the top 3 run finishers in each age division, male and female.
