Tonight: 'Mad Dogs and Englishmen Go Out in the Midday Sun'

"Hay Fever" a tribute to the comedy and music of Noel Coward, opens tonight at NDNU Theatre.

Did you know you can enjoy a fantastic Friday night without ever leaving the 94002?

Tonight, have dinner at one of Belmont's fantastic restaurants, and then stroll down Ralston Avenue and experience the humor and witty lyricism of Noel Coward in performed in the intimate setting of Notre Dame de Namur University Theatre.

Some of Coward’s best songs, such as "Mad Dogs and Englishmen Go Out in the Midday Sun," will be performed by NDNU students and veteran musical theatre actor Brent Holland, who has been a featured performer for Beach Blanket Babylon for twelve seasons and the Ghost of Christmas Present in NDNU’s annual “A Christmas Carol: The Gift.”

“The play is a romp: a wacky celebration of all things British,” said director Bruce Williams.

“It takes us into the world of the Bliss family where drama rules and correctness is set on its’ ear. Four unsuspecting guests, invited to the country home of David, Judith, Simon and Sorel Bliss take their chances as they navigate a hilarious weekend from hell.”

The NDNU production features a cast of student actors Danielle Vivion, Margaret Gorrell, Mark Aho, Fiona McVicar, Johnny Villar, Clark Bernard, Audra Batter and Elaina Vielbaum, along with visiting artists Mary Hill, George Metropulos and Brent Holland.

General admission is $10.00. Performances are October 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m., October 28 at 2 p.m. For tickets or additional information contact the NDNU Theatre box office at (650) 508-3456 or email boxoffice@ndnu.edu.
