The Foster City Rotary Club will donate dictionaries to third grade students and teachers at all three Foster City public elementary schools on Monday.
The Rotarians will present 380 hardbound MacMillan-published third grade dictionaries to students and teachers at Brewer Island Elementary 8:30 a.m., Audubon Elementary at 9:30 a.m., and Foster City Elementary an hour later.
“We are thrilled to donate dictionaries to Foster City students for the fifth consecutive year,” Rotary President Mary Bates said in a joint prepared statement with Richard Mozzini, who chairs the club’s dictionary project.
“We are looking forward to interacting with the students’ during the third grade assemblies as we hand out the books,”Bates and Mozzini said.
The dictionaries are valued at $3,800, a San Mateo-Foster City School District spokeswoman said.
“This project has become an annual tradition at the elementary schools in Foster City and students really look forward to the visit,” Bates and Mozzini said.
