Four District Schools Recognized by Business Community for Student Achievement

Audubon, Baywood, Brewer Island, and Foster City Elementary Schools honored for high standards, progress towards closing achievement gap.

The San Mateo-Foster City School District announced on Tuesday that four of its schools were honored by a prestigious business group.

Audubon, Baywood, Brewer Island, and Foster City Elementary Schools were selected by California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE) as 2011 Honor Roll schools.

Schools are honored by the CBEE for consistently demonstrating high student academic achievement and have made significant progress toward closing achievement gaps among their students.

“Congratulations to Audubon, Baywood, Foster City, and Brewer Island for your recognition as a 2011 Honor Roll School by California Business for Education Excellence,” Superintendent Cynthia Simms said in a prepared statement.

“It’s great to be acknowledged for the good work of your teachers and staff, and for the success of your students!”

The list of Honor Roll schools has grown from 304 in 2006 to 1,614 in 2011.

A full list of the Honor Roll schools can be found on the CBEE website (www.cbee.org).
