Foster City Schools Named on 2012 Honor Roll

Six schools in the San Mateo-Foster City School District have been selected by California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE) as 2012 Honor Roll schools.

Six schools in the San Mateo-Foster City School District, including four in Foster City, have been selected by California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE) as 2012 Honor Roll schools.

Bowditch Middle, Audubon Elementary, Brewer Island Elementary and Foster City Elementary schools have demonstrated "consistent high student academic achievement" and "have made significant progress toward closing achievement gaps among all their students," according to a statement from the school district.

The other schools in the San Mateo-Foster City School District to receive this honor include Baywood Elementary and Meadow Heights Elementary schools.

Superintendent Dr. Cynthia Simms said, “Congratulations to all our schools for your recognition as a 2012 Honor Roll School by California Business for Education Excellence. It’s great to be acknowledged for the good work of your teachers and staff, and for the success of your students!”

Since 2005 the Honor Roll increased from 261 high performing schools to an inspiring 2,108 high performing schools in 2012.

A full list of the Honor Roll schools can be found on the CBEE website (www.cbee.org).
