Arthur Szyk: Miniature Paintings and Modern Illuminations

This slide presentation by Arthur Szyk (pronounced 'Schick') Society curator will serve as an introduction to the new exhibition being shown at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.
Polish-born Arthur Szyk (1894-1951) is best remembered today for his graphic depictions of World War II. The show features the artist's illuminated miniatures and book illustrations and places his work firmly within the realm of fine arts. Rabbi Ungar, lender/consultant to the exhibit, will also give a personal tour of the exhibit on Janauary 12. Registration for this lecture is strongly recommended and is free to anyone registered for that trip.
