Blue Line and Red Line Put on Try Out: Does It Affect You?

The Blue Line and the Red Line are going to be on a try out period for six months to one year.

There was a time when I proudly boasted to my friends about the unique free shuttle service which was provided by my city. I would plan early morning and travel by the free shuttle, for buying grocery, visiting my dentist and friends, sometimes go window shopping to Hillsdale Mall and return home by the the last bus nearly at 4 p.m., all without paying a penny!

But a small piece of news in the Foster City Islander Newspaper forced me to realize that this happiness maybe short-lived! The fate Blue Line and the Red Line are going to be on a try out period for six months to one year.

So if it continues, it's great! But if not, what happens?

Here's how going out of the shuttle service will affect me:

  1. My monthly expense will immediately jump by an average of $35 to $40.
  2. My two-way,waiting time will shoot up by roughly a half hour, owing to the fewer buses coming to my bus-stop.
  3. I might see crowded Samtrans buses, causing inconvenience in terms of space, mobility, etc. Extend this inconvenience to your kids and grandparents and visualize the clutter.
  4. Foster City residents may never be able to boast about the unique free shuttle service again.

This is just my side of the story! I am sure there will be a story to your side too. Don't sit back! Comment below now and, let the Foster City Council know how going out of the free shuttle will affect you too.
