Senior Express and Lunch Bunch Program Reinstated

The City of Foster City received a generous, anonymous donation for $30,000 to pay for the costs of the program to continue to run in its entirety from July 1 through June 30, 2012.

Thanks to an anonymous donation to the city, the Senior Express door-to-door service and monthly senior Lunch Bunch Program will be reinstated for one year.

The City of Foster City received a generous, anonymous donation for $30,000 to pay for the costs of the program to continue to run in its entirety from July 1 through June 30, 2012. At a recent meeting, the City Council voted to accept the donation and directed staff to reinstate the program.

The Senior Express Bus operates as far north as Trousdale Avenue/Mills Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame and as far south as Veterans Boulevard/Kaiser in Redwood City.  The bus also travels to Stanford Hospital and the Millbrae BART Station.

The Senior Express operates on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. within Foster City and San Mateo, on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the specified territory and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. within Foster City and San Mateo.

Reservations are required and punch card that can be purchased at the Foster City Senior Wing front desk.  To make an appointment, call (650) 286-2585 on Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.  Appointments must be made at least one day in advance.

Fees are as follows:

In Town Bus Pass

6-pack Punch Card:  $12 ($2/ride)

10-pack Punch Card:  $18 (1 free)

20-pack Punch Card:  $30 (5 free)

Out of Town Bus Pass

6-pack Punch Card: $30 ($5/ride)

10-pack Punch Card: $45 (1 free)

20-pack Punch Card:  $75 (5 free)
