As a storm descends upon the Peninsula, Foster City residents are being reminded that free sandbags can be picked up seven days a week.
The city of Foster City has again set up its "fill your own" sandbag site for residents during the winter storm season.
Sand and bags are available all week -- with shovels provided -- at Foster City City Hall, located at 610 Foster City Blvd.
Residents, particularly those who live in areas that experience some flooding, are encouraged to pick up sandbags to ensure they are prepared for possible flooding. Residents may obtain up to 10 bags per Foster City address.
Sand and bags are being provided by the Department of Public Works, who will maintain the sites during the winter storm season, which typically runs from November – March. For more information, call Public Works at 650-286-8140.
