San Mateo Restaurant Closed Due to Presence of Rodents

Little Sichuan was forcibly closed Thursday for health code violations.

According to the San Mateo County Health System, the restaurant at 168 E. 4th Ave. in San Mateo was forcibly closed Thursday for major health code violations.

The website indicates the "presence of vermin, rodents, insects, birds or animals" was the reason for Little Sichuan's sudden closure.

As of press time, there are no notices of any scheduled administrative hearings regarding this manner, and no word on if or when the restaurant will re-open.

When I went to Korea for the first tine I saw a rat while at a restaurant. My Korean host smilled and said I was lucky i saw a rat because that is rare. It meant the rat welcomes me.

Rats exhibit more cognitive, positive social behavior (sharing food with strangers) and cleanliness (washing 60x a day average) than most humans.

I guess I can see that when the whole rat family consumes their dead sibling caught in a trap at the same time would constitute positive social behavior, I still find it hard to fathom them being clean when they have no bowel movement control and wash themselves with their tongue.
