The public is invited to join the City of Foster City in a ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
The ceremony will be held this Sunday, Sept. 11, starting at 8:30 a.m., in front of the at 1040 E. Hillsdale Blvd. Ample parking is available in the parking lot at the corner of Foster City and E. Hillsdale boulevards.
In a short ceremony, the flag will be lowered from full-staff and raised back up to half-staff at 8:46 a.m., the approximate time that the first plane hit the World Trade Center. A moment of silence will be observed, followed by a presentation of arms and personal recollections from fire and police personnel of the events of 10 years ago, and recognition of those who died.
The flag will remain at half-staff until 5 p.m.
