Foster City Seeks Lay Advisors

City to fill openings on Citizen Advisory Committees such as Parks and Recreation, Audit, and the Environmental Sustainability Task Force.

Want to do something with your time that will help you learn more about your city, meet other like-minded residents, and make a difference to Foster City?

There are currently several openings on local Citizen Advisory Committees. The City of Foster City is looking for residents who would like to learn more about serving full or partial terms on the following committees:

 

*     The Ad Hoc Environmental Sustainability Task Force – meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

*     Audit – meets twice a year, in April and November, on a weekday evening at 7 p.m.

*     Information Technology – meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

*     Parks and Recreation – meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

 

Interested applicants are invited to submit applications by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20.  Applicants for all committees are required to attend the November meeting of the committee for which they are applying and will be notified to attend the Dec. 19 City Council meeting for official appointment.  All applicants will be interviewed by the committee and by the City Council on a first-come, first-served basis.

Application forms are available at City Hall by calling 650-286-3250, or can be downloaded from the City's website at www.fostercity.org.  Completed application forms should be returned to the City Clerk at City Hall, 610 Foster City Blvd., by Thursday, Oct. 20.
