Foster City Sends Care Package to Troops in Afghanistan

The care package includes holiday cards, signed banners and candy canes.

The city of Foster City this week sent its first major care package to the city's adopted military unit, HHC 1-327th Infantry, 1st Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division, United States Army.

Half of the members of this division were recently deployed on another tour of duty in Afghanistan.

The care package contained two large banners that were signed by members of the City Council, members of the community and by City staff.

The shipment also contained more than 600 signed Holiday Cards which were hand-made by elementary and middle school students from Foster City.

And to help provide a taste of the holidays, several boxes of candy canes were also included.

If you have questions regarding the City’s Adoption of a unit from the 101st Airborne or would like to assist in our future efforts to support our troops, please contact Mayor Pam Frisella at pfrisella@fostercity.org or Police Chief Matt Martell at mmartell@fostercity.org.
