Foster City Residential Streets to Be Resurfaced

Nearly 20 different street segments in Foster City will be repaired as part of this summer's Residential Street Improvement Project.

Foster City residents and motorists are being advised that nearly 20 different street segments will be repaired beginning this month.

The work is part of this summer's Residential Street Improvement Project, and will include the repair of pavement failures followed by asphalt paving.

Work is expected to begin on Aug. 19, and will take about six weeks to complete, short of any weather-related or unforeseen conditions that may affect the overall schedule.

Foster City’s general contractor for this project is MCK Services Inc. of Martinez. Work activities will normally take place Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. However, there may be instances when work activities will need to take place outside the normal periods.

Streets may be temporarily closed and street parking prohibited during the day(s) that streets are worked on. The City’s contractor will provide residents with two advance written notifications outlining the dates for working on their streets and temporary signage will be posted along the roadway to alert all motorists of parking restrictions.

Vehicular access to driveways may be restricted on the day of work. If your residence will be affected, please make sure that your cars are not parked in the roadway during the times posted on temporary signs.

If you need to use your car that is normally parked in the street or in the driveway, you can avoid delay by parking on a nearby street not posted for work. If you plan to be on vacation, you must make arrangements to park cars off the street to avoid towing.

If you have any questions or concerns or would like more information regarding this project, please contact the Foster City Public Works Department at 286-3270. Updated information about this project will also be posted on the City of Foster City website at www.fostercity.org.
