Foster City Levee Pedway to Close for Summer Construction

The Foster City levee pedway will close this summer for improvements and updates, city officials announced this week.

The levee pedway from northern property limits of Lantern Cove development to the northern property limits of Shell Cove development will be resurfaced, including asphalt grinding followed by asphalt repaving.

Work is slated to begin on June 3 and last 10 weeks, though residents are advised the work may take longer due to weather or unforeseen conditions.

The entire section of the pedway will be temporary closed to facilitate construction of the project. Users are advised to seek alternate routes.

"The City appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation with any inconvenience caused by this construction activity as we work to maintain our pedway," city officials said in the statement this week.

Work activities will normally take place Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. There may be instances, however, when work activities will need to take place outside the normal periods.

Residents with questions or concerns are asked to contact the Foster City Public Works Department at 286-3270.
