City Council to Hear Proposals for 15-Acre Parcel
Two companies will present design proposals for the 15-acre parcel just south of City Hall at the upcoming Council meeting on Sept. 6.
At its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 6, the City Council will hear presentations from two land development teams for the development of the 15-acre vacant property immediately south of City Hall. The meeting is being held on a Tuesday due to the Labor Day holiday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 620 Foster City Blvd. The two presentations will begin at 7:15 and 8:30. The public is invited to attend this meeting or view it on FCTV; Comcast Channel 27, ATT Channel 99 or streaming at fostercity.tv.
Based on their selection through a Request for Qualifications process, three land development teams were invited to respond to a Request for Proposals. Two teams submitted proposals by the Aug. 1 deadline. At the Sept. 6 meeting, each team will present the initial concept of the uses and designs that their teams are proposing for the site, based on the criteria that were included in the Request for Proposals. The presentations at this meeting are expected to demonstrate each team’s approach and ability to create a plan that matches the City’s vision for the site.

The two land development teams that will be participating in the Sept. 6 meeting include a team led by the Sares-Regis Group of Northern California L.L.P. at 7:15, and a team put together for this effort called Foster City Community Partners at 8:30.
The City Council will not be selecting one of the firms as the potential developers of the 15-acre site at the Sept. 6 meeting. That decision will be discussed and made at the City Council meeting on October 3.
