What do you love most about the City? The community within Foster City. People come together for various activities and participate in civic endeavors. The Summer Concerts and Fourth of July celebrations unite the residents. Groups within the City, including City employees, work to keep Foster City a great place to live, work and play.

How long have you been part of the Foster City Police Department? I began my relationship with the Police Department in 1982 when I started Neighborhood Watch as my Eagle Scout project. In 1983, I became the first Captain of the Police Explorer Program. This grew into a career I started as a police officer in 1988. I now serve the Department as a Police Captain.

Why did you choose to become an officer? I wanted to work in a field that helped people. After participating in Youth in Government Day with the Police Department, I decided this was the career for me. I have been happy ever since. This is a very rewarding profession.

What do you see as the biggest concerns in the area? I am most concerned about the financial pressure being put on the City. The City worked hard to budget conservatively and maintain healthy reserves. I am hopeful the City can work through this situation without significantly changing why we choose to live and work in Foster City.

If you could change one thing overnight about the City, what would it be?  I would build out the 15 acre site with a project that meets the needs of the City. This would complete the center of the City and bring needed revenue to the community.

What do you do in your spare time? I am a member of the Foster City Lions Club and participate as a member of the Lions District cabinet. The Lions Club keeps me busy on projects in and around Foster City. I also volunteer regularly for Special Olympics. I am a part of their Northern California Games Management Team. I help manage sporting events  for our athletes from Davis to Salinas. I am also married and a father of three teenagers who are active in local youth endeavors.
