Trial Date Set for Alleged Foster City Shooter

Jesse Wilson, who faces attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting two men in July, is scheduled for trial in April.

The trial of a Foster City man accused of shooting two men at Beach Cove Apartments last July has been scheduled for April 18.

The trial date was set during Jesse Wilson's arraignment Wednesday morning in San Mateo Superior Court in Redwood City. Wilson, 39, faces two counts of attempted murder and four counts of assault with a firearm stemming from the July 9 incident.

Wilson, who has not posted $500,000 bail set during his preliminary hearing two weeks ago, appeared at his arraignment Wednesday in orange jail coveralls and handcuffs.

Wilson is charged with shooting Steven Dimond and Anthony Cook shortly before midnight outside the Beach Cove Apartments during a dispute over loud noise.

The incident began shortly after Dimond, Cook, and three other women on a boat ride in the lagoon created a noisy commotion when one of their boats capsized.

According to testimony at Wilson's preliminary hearing testimony, he allegedly came outside his apartment with a .38 caliber revolver in response to the noise and a physical altercation ensued. While there is some disagreement over who started the fight, Dimond sustained a gunshot wound to his armpit area and Cook was shot in the abdomen during the altercation. Wilson suffered facial injuries.

During the two-day preliminary hearing, Dimond testified that he spent 13 days in the hospital from a collapsed lung caused by the gunshot wound.

Wilson is scheduled to appear in court again March 1 for a pretrial hearing.
