Three Arrested in South San Francisco Robbery That Left Woman Hospitalized

Police said one of the suspects punched a woman in the face when she held on to her purse that they were trying to steal.

South San Francisco officers have arrested three suspects in connection with a robbery Tuesday that sent a woman to the hospital, police said.

Eric Esqueda-Perez, 21, Nicholas William Rodriguez, 18, and a juvenile, all of South San Francisco were arrested on suspicion of robbery and also face gang-related charges.

Police said the 46-year-old victim was walking in the 800 block of Hickory Place when one of the suspects pulled on her purse from behind.

Police said the woman tried to hold on to her purse, but a second suspect punched her in the face several times. A third suspect was also present during the robbery.

The suspects fled the area on foot but were later apprehended by officers, according to police.

The victim suffered injuries to her face, chest and back and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
