Sheriff's Deputies Ask Public's Help in Locating Missing Woman

The missing woman, Margaret Woodman, 67, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

San Mateo County sheriff's deputies are asking the public's help in the search for a 67-year-old woman missing from her residence in the 1000 block Idyllwild Avenue in unincorporated San Mateo County.

The woman, Margaret Woodman was reported missing Thursday at approximately 4:30 p.m. Woodman, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, reportedly left her residence at 11:30 a.m. Thursday to go for a walk and has not yet returned.

According to Sgt. Mark Duri, Woodman was last seen wearing a white leather jacket and black pants with a flower print. She has been known to frequent Courthouse Square in downtown Redwood City.

Any person who may have seen Margaret Woodman or has any additional information is encouraged to call the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office at 650-363-4911.

You might think publicity like this doesn't help. Au contraire! One of my co-workers encountered this woman last night (around midnight) but didn't know about this, because he doesn't read The Patch! I showed him this article, and he took one look at the photo and knew this was the woman he had seen. Not sure if this helped locate her (she *has* now been located, and she is safe) but this certainly helped! :)
