San Mateo Police Arrest Shooting Suspect

No one was injured in the shooting Wednesday evening.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting incident in San Mateo on Wednesday evening, police said Thursday.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Santa Clara Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a disturbance, San Mateo Police Sgt. Dave Norris said.

The victim was found unharmed, and told the officers the suspect was still inside a home on Santa Clara Avenue, Norris said.

A rapid notification phone message was sent in the area telling residents to stay indoors while officers secured the home.

Officers were able to talk to everyone inside the home and found a handgun on the property, according to Norris.

Christopher Damico, a Daly City resident, was arrested on suspicion of firing the handgun at the victim, a 31-year-old transient, Norris said.

Officers believe the shooting occurred after an argument turned physical.
