San Mateo Man Found Dead in Car

The man was found in a car in Pacifica on Friday night.

Police in Pacifica are continuing to investigate the death of a San Mateo man who was found dead in his car Friday night.

Officers were on patrol in the 200 block of Palmetto Avenue when they noticed a parked car with a broken driver's side window at about 10:55 p.m.

The officers stopped to investigate and found the body of a 52-year-old man inside the vehicle, according to police.

A portion of Palmetto Avenue was blocked off while police and the San Mateo County coroner's office responded.

The cause of death was still being investigated as of Tuesdsay afternoon. The man's identity was being withheld until his next of kin could be notified.
