Traffic officers in San Mateo County will be on the lookout Wednesday for speeding motorists in well-known trouble spots in South San Francisco and
San Bruno, according to police.
The 24 officers are participating in a countywide program, San
Mateo County Saturation Traffic Enforcement, also known as STEP.
In addition to speed, Wednesday's deployment will focus on seatbelt
and cellphone violations, and officers will be issuing citations as well as
warnings, STEP officials said.
Participating officers are from local police departments in San
Mateo County, as well as the sheriff's office and the California Highway
