Police Blotter: Vandals Trash Family’s Christmas Decors; Cops Chase Down Accused Trespasser

Monday, Dec. 19

8:10  a.m., Baffin Street: Vandals destroyed Christmas decorations at a home valued at about $75. The incident occurred sometime after 10 p.m. on Sunday.

2:12 p.m., Celestial Lane: A witness reported seeing juveniles in a red Volvo towing another juvenile in a chair with a rope. Police did not see the juveniles engaged in reckless activity when they arrived, but they issued an admonishment and advised their parents of the witness’ report.

7:25 p.m., East Hillsdale Boulevard: Vandals defaced a home, etching graffiti on a homeowner’s front door. The incident occurred on Dec. 17 some time between 7 and 9:45 p.m.

10:02 p.m., CVS on East Hillsdale Boulevard: Police chased down a Foster City man accused of trespassing a stockroom. Police initially responded to a call from a store employee who spotted an unauthorized man who appeared to be on drugs. Dhani Ratliff, 38, drove away and failed to yield to police who arrived on the scene. He abandoned his car and tried to run away but was caught a few blocks away. Ratliff was arrested on a parole violation and taken to county jail.

Wednesday, Dec. 21

9:07  a.m., Sea Spray Lane: Burglars cut through a car’s convertible top in a botched attempt to steal a car stereo. The incident occurred sometime on or after Dec. 16.

9:48  a.m., Gull Avenue: A Foster City man was arrested for public drunkenness. Jeremy Cohen, 31, was taken to First Chance, a treatment center in San Carlos.

11:55 a.m., Cityhomes Lane: Burglars stole about $1,000 in cash from a man’s basement.
