Police Blotter: Scammers Defraud Woman of $15,000 in Costco Parking Lot; Bottle Broken on Victim's Head in Ugly Crowne Plaza Melee

The following information was supplied by the Foster City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Sept. 30

2:45 a.m., Chevron Station on East Hillsdale Boulevard: A 33-year-old Foster City man was arrested for driving under the influence. Gregory Wong was taken to First Chance in San Carlos.

7:01 a.m. Balclutha Drive: A car was stolen from a carport sometime between 10 p.m. on Sept. 29 to 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 30.

2:54 p.m., Schooner Street: A GPS device was stolen from an unlocked car sometime between 10 p.m. on Sept. 25 to 1 p.m. on Sept. 26.

3:11 p.m., Costco on Metro Center Boulevard: A woman was defrauded by two people she met in the parking lot. She gave approximately $15,000 in cash to two scammers descibed as adult Hispanic females tied to a brown 1980’s Nissan four-door vehicle.

11:17 p.m., Crowne Plaza on Chess Drive: A 42-year-old Los Gatos man was arrested for driving under the influence. Jeffrey Figeira was taken to First Chance in San Carlos.

  

Saturday, Oct. 1

1:38 a.m., Crowne Plaza on Chess Drive: A 36-year-old South San Francisco man was arrested for public drunkenness after police responded to reports of an altercation. Juan Felix was taken to county jail. Paramedics responded to aid a person who was hit over the head with a bottle during the fight.

11:27 a.m., Edgewater Boulevard and East Hillsdale Boulevard: Two vehicles were hit by a hit-and-run driver. No serious injuries were reported but both vehicles were damaged.

2:41 p.m. Port Royal Avenue: A government-issued Hewlett Packard laptop, laptop bag, passport and knife were stolen from the seat of an unlocked vehicle sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 to 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 1.

9:26 p.m., East Hillsdale Boulevard and Pilgrim Drive: A 36-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for driving under the influence. Benjamin Novak was taken to First Chance in San Carlos.

 

Sunday, Oct. 2

1:00 a.m., Crowne Plaza on Chess Drive: A security guard was threatened by four or five people in the West Parking Lot.

1:07 a.m.: East Hillsdale Boulevard and Altair Avenue: A 31-year-old Burlingame man was arrested for driving under the influence. Luis Rivas, was taken to First Chance in San Carlos.
