Police Blotter: 'Murmurer' Tells Cops He Wasn't Really Going to Shoot Dogs

Friday, Nov. 18

6:35 p.m., Shooting Star Isle: Two men in a red pickup truck solicited flyers for painting services amid suspicious circumstances, according to an informant who told police the men didn’t distribute the flyer to any of his neighbors and thinks the men may have entered his open garage door.

Saturday, Nov. 19

9:25 a.m., Dog Park on Foster City Boulevard: A man wearing a blue rain jacket and baseball cap was overheard murmering threats to shoot some dogs, but denied making such plans when confronted by police.

6:19 p.m., Beach Park Boulevard: A hit-and-run driver hit a parked car sometime between 11 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. the next day. The parked vehicle suffered major damage.

8:38 p.m., Sand Cove Apartments on Bounty Drive: A red men’s Trek bike that was chained to a carport pole was stolen between 6 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. the next day. The bike is valued at about $100.

 

Sunday, Nov. 20

1:17 a.m., Fashion Island and Mariners Island Boulevards: A San Mateo man was arrested for driving under the influence. John Rodriguez, 35, was taken to First Chance, a San Carlos treatment facility.

1:20 a.m., Foster City and Metro Center Boulevards: A San Francisco man was arrested for driving under the influence. Marcus Tiger, 34, was taken to First Chance.

2:02 a.m., Crowne Plaza on Chess Drive: A Union City man was arrested for public intoxication. Jose Saaverdra, 35, was taken to county jail.

3:26 a.m., East Hillsdale Boulevard and Center Park Lane: The hit-and-run driver of a red car hit a vehicle headed westbound on East Hillsdale Boulevard.

6:10 p.m., Costco on Metro Center Boulevard: A Milpitas man was arrested for petty theft. Michael Jou, 38, was cited and released.

9:20 p.m., Rock Harbor Lane: A San Mateo man and a juvenile were arrested on multiple counts of petty theft. Javoun Smith, 20, and the juvenile were among four male suspects – all wearing black baseball caps, black shirts, black pants and red bandanas covering their faces - seen trying to break into a car. Police summoned to the scene found Smith and the juvenile in possession of two GPS devices and an iPod authorities said were stolen from another vehicle. Smith was cited and released. The juvenile was released to a guardian.
