Police Blotter: Roosters Roust Neighbors; 'Kevin' Doesn't Really Work for the Census

Monday, Nov. 14
6:55 a.m., Catamaran Street: A stolen vehicle was recovered with a damaged steering column.
9:16 a.m., Foster City Boulevard: A locked 21-speed Boardman 21-FS Pro mountain bike valued at $1,500 was stolen from a balcony between 8 p.m. on Sunday and 7:40 a.m. The bike was gray with white trim.

2:50 p.m., Coral Lane: Authorities responded to reports of roosters and chickens being kept in a neighbor’s backyard in violation of city code. Police left a notice when the neighbors didn’t answer their doorbell.
Wednesday, Nov. 16
6:20 p.m., Foster City Boulevard: A suspicious man wearing a black trench coat and carrying a binder who identified himself as census worker named "Kevin" was gone when police arrived.
6:38 p.m., Chess Drive at Highway 92: A Redwood City man on parole was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Brian Knee, 23, had less than an ounce of marijuana and a pipe on him at the time of his arrest.
Thursday, Nov. 17
7:14 a.m., De Soto Lane: A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway between 4 p.m. on Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. the next day.
4:29 p.m. Sea Spray Lane: Burglars stole unspecified property valued approximately $36,000 that had been in a storage locker since February.
7:40 p.m., Chess Drive and Highway 92: A hit-and-run driver who caused unspecified property damage and injuries was described as female with dark hair driving a red Acura with body damage on the front right side.
8:33 p.m., Valero at Foster City Boulevard: An Oakland man was arrested on an outstanding $30,000 warrant for shoplifting. Twinicki Coleman, 32, was taken to county jail.
