Police Blotter: Grand Theft Suspect Allegedly Provides Police Fake ID, Two Cars Reported Stolen Hours Apart Near Same Location

The following information was supplied by the Foster City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Sept. 26

7:54 a.m., Beach Park Boulevard: Police responded to a two-vehicle noninjury accident.

12:45 p.m., Costco on Metro Center Boulevard: Police arrested a 42-year-old San Mateo woman for shoplifting. Veronica Buckley, who was later released, allegedly stole $18 worth of merchandise.

2:10 p.m., Costco on Metro Center Boulevard: A female Costco employee reported a hit-and-run incident in the parking lot. The incident occurred between 5 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

2:58 p.m., Beach Park Boulevard: An elderly woman was cited for driving on a bike path.

8:42 p.m. Crowne Plaza on Chess Drive: A guest reported her credit card stolen. Fraudulent charges were made on her card in Mountain View, Palo Alto and Milpitas.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 27

10:18 a.m., Bounty Drive: A woman reported her car stolen. The theft occurred between 6 p.m. on Sept 26 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 27.

12:03 p.m. Comet Drive and Bounty Drive: A woman reported her car stolen. She said the theft occurred between 6 a.m. on Sept. 23 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 27.

7:08 p.m. Costco on Metro Center Boulevard: A 56-year-old Redwood City man was arrested for commercial burglary for stealing a digital camera. Jose Chavez had burglary tools in his possession at the time of his arrest and provided fake identification to police.

10:33 p.m., Aruba Lane: A watch and four dollars and cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle between 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 26 and 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 27.

Thursday, Sept. 29:

8:23 a.m., Foster City Boulevard and East Hillsdale Boulevard: Police and paramedics responded to a multivehicle noninjury accident. Parties involved in the accident refused medical treatment.

9:33 a.m., East Hillsdale Boulevard: Police responded to complaints of a health and safety code violation for someone smoking marijuana in a store bathroom.

10:52 a.m., East Third Avenue: A store clerk reported to police that a blue and white Angelo paddle board was stolen.

12:53 p.m., Triton Drive: A 27-year-old Sacramento man was arrested for driving without a license. Efrain Flores was cited and released.

4:33 p.m., Rock Harbor Lane: Police responded to a complaint of suspected check fraud.

6:31 p.m., Foster City Boulevard: A patrol officer found a chair on fire in the rear of a complex in a case of possible arson.

7:34 p.m., Crane Avenue: A man reported two cone-shaped hanging plant pots valued at $90 were stolen from his residence. The incident occurred between 9:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sept. 29.

10:28 p.m., Portal Lane and Hillsdale Boulevard: A 37-year-old San Jose man was arrested on a bench warrant violation for contempt of court. Jose F. Romero was also cited for driving on a suspended license.
