Police Blotter: Graffiti, Reckless Driving and a Jewelry Theft

The following information was supplied by the Foster City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Aug. 25

10:33 a.m., Flying Fish: A woman came to the front counter of the police department and requested advice regarding harrassing mail her husband has been receiving. Advice was given.

12:40 p.m., Metro Center Boulevard: Someone at Costco called police to say he was concerned about a dog in a locked car in the parking lot. Officers responded and saw that all four windows were partially lowered and the dog did not appear in distress. Officers made contact with the owner.

1:11 p.m., Jamaica: Someone called police with a second-hand report that a couple visiting a residence were verbally arguing. Officers responded and made contact with all parties. The argument was determined to be verbal only.

2:24 p.m., Beach Park Boulevard: Someone reported graffiti on the north walkway of the Bicentennial Bridge. Officers took a report.

2:25 p.m., Winchester Court and Port Royal Avenue: Someone called with a second-hand report of graffiti in the alleyway between Winchester and Port Royal. Officers performed an extensive check of the area and could not find anything. The caller said he or she would check again and recontact the police if able to locate it.

2:29 p.m., Foster City Boulevard: Someone came to the front counter of the police department to report that he believed someone had keyed his car sometime between 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 23 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 24, while parked at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center on Foster City Boulevard. The caller had a possible description of the suspect. Officers took a report.

4:33 p.m., Flying Cloud: Someone came to the front counter of the police department to report that someone had stolen his or her license plate. Officers took a report.

5:05 p.m., E. Hillsdale Boulevard: A woman came to the front counter of the police department to report a reckless driver. She described the suspect as a white male with a shaved head, who was cutting off drivers on Highway 92, and said he almost hit her car. Officers made an extensive check of the area and could not locate the driver.

5:22 p.m., Edgewater Boulevard: Someone called to report a dog locked in a car for at least 15 minutes at the Lucky's grocery store. Officers responded and saw that the windows were slightly open. Officers made contact with the dog's owner and ensured the dog was OK.

6:42 p.m., Menhaden Court: A woman reported that jewelry had been stolen from her residence, valued at approximately $70,000. She said the jewelry was taken sometime between the year 2006 and May 30 of this year. Officers took a report.

7:02 p.m., Marlin Avenue and Halibut: Someone reported a car driven by a white male was swerving in the roadway near Marlin. Officers responded but the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

7:04 p.m., E. Hillsdale Boulevard: Someone reported that his vehicle was struck in the parking lot of the Safeway grocery store. Officers took a report.
