Man Critically Injured in Shooting

The 24-year-old victim was shot in the head.

A 24-year-old man was in critical condition Wednesday morning after suffering an apparent gunshot wound to the head in unincorporated San Mateo County, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a home in the 300 block of San Carlos Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, according to sheriff's officials.

The man received treatment at the scene by emergency medical personnel and then was taken to Stanford Hospital. He was listed in critical condition, according to the sheriff's office.
