Thieves Steal About $5,000 in Jewelry

Friday

8:36 a.m., Lantern Cove Rock, Rock Harbor Lane: A reportedly suspicious man, wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, walking along a pathway with his head down walked into a parking lot and starting picking up twigs and then dropped them. 

1:41 p.m., Edgewater Boulevard: An unknown suspect broke into a work vehicle and stole several construction tools, valued at between $1,500 and $2,000.

4:46 p.m., Melbourne: Nikolas Garcia, 18, was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and burglary after he allegedly smashed a bedroom window and entered a home.

7:04 p.m., Chin's Investments, San Clemente Lane: A woman saw a 16-year-old male, wearing a baseball cap and gray T-shirt, running toward the front of her residence after she found him banging on a rear window.

7:39 p.m., Leeward Lane: A woman reported that her brother tackled their father and was attacking other family members. Police took a report for batter and noted the family did not wish to prosecute the brother.

8:35 p.m., , East Hillsdale Boulevard: A woman with a baby in a stroller was panhandling in front of the store. The woman was gone when police arrived.

Saturday

4:43 a.m., Catamaran: Someone reported an unoccupied car, still running with the lights on, and had been for about 20 minutes. Police contacted the owner, who did not realize he had left the car on.

10:14 p.m., , East Hillsdale Boulevard: An ex-boyfriend, who moved out of his girlfriend's house last week, was attempting to move back in. Police advised and abated the situation.

11:03 a.m., Leeward Lane: An unknown suspect entered through an open rear sliding door and stole four pieces of jewelry worth $5,000.

6:29 p.m., Rickover and Nimitz Lanes: Some residents set up cones in a traffic lane in order to partition a space for their children to ride bicycles.

1:41 p.m., Edgewater Boulevard: A group of juveniles was ringing doorbells and running from the homes.

Sunday

12:34 a.m., , Chess Drive: Several people were reportedly fighting in front of the hotel, but most of them were gone when police arrived. Police contacted the remaining people and arrested Christopher Blair, 34, a Union City resident, on suspicion of being drunk in public.

1:41 p.m., Edgewater Boulevard: Police arrested Roberto Naluz, 44, a Hayward resident, and John Sanz, 32, a Daly city resident, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a second-hand report of a fight in a restaurant. Both were booked into county jail.

7:03 p.m., Cossey on Essex Lane: An unknown suspect was reportedly tampering with a cable or Internet box outside of her home.

9:57 p.m., Village Lane: A man called police for a welfare check on his 50-year-old girlfriend who said over the phone that she felt like committing suicide. Police later determined that the couple had been drinking earlier in the day and that she said it during an alcohol-fuelled argument.
