Hillsborough Man Arrested on Suspicion of Battery

Timothy Malouf was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.

Editor's note:

This is an edited version of a story that ran on Dec. 30, 2011. The San Mateo County District Attorney dropped misdemeanor battery charges against the former suspect in this case on April 16.

A Hillsborough man was arrested for an alleged Christmas Day attack on his girlfriend, police said.

Timothy A. Malouf, 19, was arrested on suspicion of battery for the incident involving a 17-year-old alleged victim.

Malouf was taken to county jail and released on his own recognizance after his booking because the arrest was on a non-felony charge.

He is due to appear in San Mateo Superior Court in Redwood City for an initial appearance on Jan. 30.

The alleged incident occurred in a parked car in front of the girl’s home in the 500 block of Gibraltar Lane, Foster City Police Captain Matt Martell told Patch.

Police arrived at the scene within minutes of receiving a call from the alleged victim at about 8:30 p.m.
