Foster City Police Say, 'We'll Show You the Carfax'

Starting today, the Foster City Police will make collision reports easily available online through its new partnership with the popular car history report website, Carfax.

Obtaining collision reports from the is now just a few mouse clicks away.

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 1, the Foster City Police Department will be partnering with Carfax to make collision reports available online.

Traffic collision reports will be forwarded to Carfax and will be made available to involved parties and insurance companies at www.crashdocs.org/ca-fostercity. The requestor will need the case number, the name of an involved party, and the date of the collision to order a copy. Once the $5.00 convenience fee is paid, the requestor will be able to print a copy of his or her report.

The service is only for traffic collision reports, said Foster City Chief of Police Craig Coultin.

The new service will not impact the ability for people to come to the police station to purchase report copies. That service will still be available during the police department’s regular office hours,
Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Fridays, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

For additional information about this service or other records-related matters, contact Foster City Records Manager John Dolan at 650-286-3300.
