Update: 3rd Avenue from Mariner's Island to Detroit Drive Reopened After Downed Power Line Repaired

East 3rd Avenue in San Mateo From Foster City to Norfolk Street is now open for traffic.

Update, 7:03 pm: East 3rd Avenue in San Mateo From Foster City to Norfolk Street is now open for traffic.

Update 5:16 pm: 3rd Avenue is closed in both directions from Mariner’s Island Boulevard to Detroit Drive due to a damaged power line.

"As of 4 pm, the roadway is still closed and the length of time for the closure is unknown. PG&E has stated that the closure is likely to extend through the commute hours," said Foster City Police Captain Jon Froomin.

Foster City Police is advising drivers to use alternate routes to reach San Mateo and Highway 101.
