Police Blotter: Cops Nab Accused Hit and Run Driver, Settle Dog Park Dispute

The following information was supplied by the Foster City Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Jan. 9

2:19 p.m., Tai Wu Restaurant on Foster City Boulevard: A hit and run driver caused unspecified property damage to another vehicle. The incident occurred after 11:30 a.m.

4:28 p.m., Regulus Street: A Foster City resident reported $15,000 in cash and miscellaneous items including jewelry and clothing valued at $10,000 stolen from his home. He told police he believes an ex-housekeeper is responsible.

8:20 p.m., Jamba Juice on Metro Center Boulevard: A hit and run driver caused unspecified property damage.

8:53 p.m., Haddock Street: A girl was arrested for assault and taken to juvenile hall.

Tuesday, Jan. 10

4:41 p.m., Sea Cloud Park on Sea Cloud Drive: A man riding a motor scooter on a soccer field in violation of a city ordinance left before police arrived.

 

Wednesday, Jan. 11

10:34 a.m., Bowditch Middle School on Tarpon Street: A vice principal told police a female student said she was the victim of a hit and run while riding her bicycle home from school the previous day, but police were unable to substantiate the girl’s claim.

11:20 a.m., Edgewater Boulevard: Police located the owner of a dog who bit a woman and forwarded the case to the SPCA.

1:55 p.m., Edgewater Boulevard: Vandals caused an estimated $600 in damages to a parked car sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 and 7 p.m. the next day.

2:50 p.m., Bounty Drive: Two locked bicycles were stolen from a patio. Thieves cut a chain lock in an overnight burglary.

3:29 p.m., Edgewater Boulevard and Beach Boulevard: A hit and run driver caused unspecified damages to the front driver’s side of a parked car sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 and 10 a.m. the next day.

4:29 p.m., Dog Park on Foster City Boulevard: Police responded to a report of an argument between dog owners.

4:37 p.m., Bowditch School on Tarpon Street: A fight that left a child with serious injuries is under investigation.

9:27 p.m., Cortez Lane: A Foster City woman was arrested on suspicion of hit and run with an injury. Leslie Rothschild, 18, is accused of fleeing the scene of a collision that left a male pedestrian with a hand injury. Rothschild was taken to county jail.

 

Thursday, Jan. 12

1:10 p.m., Bowditch School on Tarpon Street: A student who brought a knife to school was arrested and taken to county jail.

2:50 p.m., Foster City Police Department on East Hillsdale Boulevard: A 25-year-old man was hospitalized with stab wounds during a road rage incident. His attackers were described as white men in their 20s wearing baseball caps in a black late-model BMW.
