Caught Red-Handed: Police Say Man Still Had Blood on Him When Arrested on Suspicion of Burglary

Prosecutors say that surveillance video taken from the Woodside Spa in Redwood City shows Alan Patrick Stinson, 32, allegedly using his shoulder to smash the front window of the business.

By Bay City News Service:

A San Jose man was literally caught red-handed Monday night when he was discovered by sheriff's deputies with blood on his face, hands and all over the money he allegedly stole from a Redwood City massage parlor, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's office.

Prosecutors say that surveillance video taken from the Woodside Spa in Redwood City shows Alan Patrick Stinson, 32, allegedly using his shoulder to smash the front window of the business at around 11:10 p.m.

Stinson was in court Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to felony burglary and vandalism charges connected to the incident. He will return to court on May 5 for a preliminary hearing, according to District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

Stinson, who was found still bloody and in possession of the $735 in cash he allegedly stole from the Woodside Road spa, was caught after deputies received reports of loud noises coming from the business late at night, according to prosecutors.

A female employee sleeping upstairs during the incident was not harmed. Stinson is being held on $25,000 bail in the San Mateo County Jail.
