A man with a grenade around his neck has reportedly prompted the bomb squad to respond to Fourth Avenue in San Mateo on Monday morning, according to multiple witness accounts.

It's 4th Avenue not Street and hopefully not a hoax.

I walked by Suruki Market about 11:00. 4th was reopened, and the police officers were standing around chatting. The guy in fatigues was back in his truck, and a few moments later left without incident. My guess is that it may have been a false alarm, considering how quickly it was cleaned up and the man left not under arrest.
