My First Blog Post

Okay I'm a little computer challenged but when Patch invited me to join this site I thought.....why not?

I have enjoyed reading resident's comments on Foster City, can't hear it enough times that people love living here.

As a member of the City Council here in Foster City, I'm concentrating on the budget, reading and re-reading reports, charts and recommendations staff has spent months on comprising.  We have directed them to make the changes needed to balance our budget over the next three years and we will study those suggestions Monday night at 5:30.  Your city council has been meeting for eight months with staff in public and private sessions to validate, direct and ultimately approve this year's budget.

However I'm taking a break this morning to meet up with our mayor and Alvin Wang from our Park and Recreation Committee to learn how to paddle in the lagoon.  Then it's "back to the books"!

Jackie Speier will be at Safeway at 10:30 today.......an FYI.
