Just Enough Words

This week, the Peninsula Humane Society shares a story about Flower, a deaf stray who found a loving new home.

Recently, 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh referred to quarterback Colin Kaepernick as “a man of just enough words.” I like that description – it inspired my contribution for this week.

I’ll use just a few words to tell Flower’s story and let the attached photos speak for themselves.

Flower was a deaf herding breed mix we received as a stray months before we opened our new Center for Compassion in September of 2011.

She, like other dogs in our care at that time, moved right from the older-style, chain-link and cinderblock kennels at our Coyote Point facility into roomier dog dorms in our new Center.

And, shortly after we opened our new place, Flower was adopted.

We’ve heard from her adopters a few times since then, including just this past week. They reported that Flower was still doing fantastically well in her home and that they love having her as part of the family.

They attached these photos of a recent trip to their place in the country. The photos really needed just one word: awww!
