Community Corner

Home, Sweet Home

Finding animals a temporary home is good, but a permanent home is better.

The most popular spot in our quarterly Pawprint newsletter (mailed to supporters and distributed, by volunteers, to our community’s libraries, vet offices, grooming businesses, senior centers, etc.) is the two-page spread titled "Home, Sweet Home."

This is where we highlight a number of recent adoptions, many with short testimonials from the adopters.

Basically, it's two pages of dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, iguanas, even an occasional farm animal, loving their new digs.

Our new Center for Compassion on Rollins Road in Burlingame with its roomy dog dorms, indoor dog park and cat condos is the bee’s knees, but it’s meant to be a temporary home. Nothing beats a forever home.

Pictured here, two of those recent adoptions that caught my attention this week.

In one,  you can see Jiggs in his new favorite spot, snug in a bed beside his people’s bed.

And, in the other shot, Winston having a Zen moment.

If you adopted from PHS/SPCA recently and want to share your home photos, my in-box is waiting.  Delucchi@PHS-SPCA.org.
