Best Of Winner: Chalet Ticino

The Foster City eatery won with a whopping percent of the vote in the Patch "Best Of" Italian restaurant contest.

The votes and comments are in, and this afternoon we announce the best place in Foster City to find delicious Italian food just like Nonna used to make.

And the winner of our inaugural is: .

A Patch review by notes that Chalet Ticino is a “Lovely place.”

“We have visited on and off over the years,” Beck writes. “Nice atmosphere, and the food is excellent. My family is from the German part of Switzerland, so I enjoy some of the familiar dishes on the menu.

The gourmet restaurant offers lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. It is open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and on Sunday between 4:00 and 9:00 p.m.

The restaurant specializes in dishes from the Italian regions of Switzerland, but also serves delicacies from the French and German regions. Past is made fresh on the premises, and lunch specials are offered daily.

Looking for other great Italian restaurants a short drive away?

In San Mateo, our readers recommend Buon Appetito Italian Pizzaria, and to south in Belmont Patch, the choice was .

For delicious pasta and other Italian dishes in Half Moon Bay, Patch readers recommend .

Next week, Patch is looking for the "Best Venue for a Kid's Birthday Party." The voting begins at 5 a.m. on Monday.
