Monday, Dec. 12

San Mateo police arrested a man accused of r and attempting to rob a third.

Delaudea Else, 19, of Sacramento, was arrested at Seal Park and booked into county jail on two counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted robbery and one count of possession of stolen property - a handgun stolen in Roseville.

PG&E today for the deadly San Bruno pipeline blast that killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes on Sept. 9, 2010. The utility said it will  compensate all the victims for their injuries and property damage.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 14

A superior court judge on Monday in the trial of a 40-year-old Foster City man accused of shooting two neighbors.

Jesse David Wilson allegedly shot two men who were creating a ruckus near Beach Cove Apartments when their canoe capsized shortly before midnight on July 9 of last year.

 

Thursday, Dec. 15

Two former county mosquito abatement district employees are facing a combined in an embezzlement scheme that prosecutors say netted $435,000.

The district attorney has filed arrest warrants against onetime finance director Jo Ann Dearman and accounting supervisor Vika Sinipata. Dearman has twice been convicted on similar charges,

 

Friday, Dec. 16

A Foster City-based biotech behemoth on Thursday officially from a federal agency for a breakthrough drug that appears to be the closest thing to an AIDS vaccine ever developed.

Gilead Sciences announced that it submitted an application to the Food and Drug Administration seeking approval for “Truvada,” a once-daily pill the company says reduces the risk of infection. 

Truvada would be the first such preventative AIDS drug to be approved by the FDA.

 

Saturday, Dec. 17

Police have ruled the death of a man whose body was discovered on Friday afternoon to be a .

The man’s body was discovered inside a home on the 600 block of Waterbury Lane. The homicide is Foster City’s first reported one since 2006 and the second since 1996.
