For the 27th consecutive year, Caltrain Martin Luther King Jr. Day by running a Freedom Train through the Peninsula.
The reduced price round-trip run from San Jose to San Francisco commemorated the historic Selma to Montgomery, Alabama March that occurred in 1965, according to its founders, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Santa Clara Valley.

A defense attorney representing a Foster City man who shot and wounded two men outside a lagoon-front apartment in 2010 that his client was acting in self-defense.

Jesse David Wilson, 41, is on trial for two counts of attempted murder and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon for the July 2010 shooting that occurred outside Beach Cove Apartments.
