The Summer Bookmobile is Here!

Hop aboard and enjoy free books, magazines, audio books, and even laptops and e-books.

According to the San Mateo-Foster City School District (SMFCSD), children who read over the summer tend to be better prepared when they return to school in the fall.

Therefore, district representatives say they are once again happy to be sponsoring the 12th annual Summer Bookmobile.

Stocked with a healthy selection of reading materials in both English and Spanish, the Summer Bookmobile is open to all SMFCSD families.

Each family may borrow up to two books, magazines or books-on-tape at a time, at no cost. There are board and picture books for toddlers, as well as both fiction and nonfiction books for school-aged children.

Additionally, laptops and e-books are available for use during Bookmobile stops, also at no cost. Programs and software to help English learners are available.

"We encourage families to take advantage of the Bookmobile when it is in their neighborhood, and to use this opportunity to create happy memories of summer reading and Bookmobile visits," said Amber Farinha, coordinator or community services for SMFCSD.
