Soon-to-Open Foster City Eatery Praised for Corporate Citizenship

Freebirds World Burrito holds fundraiser, sends volunteers to Foster City teen center.

A fast food chain that hasn’t yet opened its doors in Foster City is getting plaudits from city officials for corporate citizenship.

, which opens for business on Wednesday, has already done what it could to make a positive impact on the Peninsula city, according to a Foster City Parks Recreation Department staffer who has seen company’s work firsthand.

Freebirds held a benefiting the Foster City Youth and Teen Foundation on Monday,  and its employees have volunteered at the city’s VIBE Teen Center.

Freebirds staffers showed kids how to make and wrap a burrito and participated in recreational activities such as basketball, pool, and ping pong. 

“We are very excited to welcome Freebirds World Burrito into the Foster City community,” Recreation Coordinator Tiffany Hall said. “We appreciate and commend them on their commitment to giving back to this community.”
